The platforms are constructed of plastic film which has the perfect balance of durability and clarity to ensure an optimal environment for algae growth. The principal benefits of these platforms are high biomass density, low contamination and good thermal control. The platforms produce reliable, highly productive algae at capital costs similar to an open pond using natural strains.

In addition, Culture Fuels has also developed a ground based version of the platforms.
